Does Islam allow wife beating?
|
Respected scientists! Does Islam allow wife beating? Some couples are violent and say that the Koran allows them to strike their wives. Is there any logical explanation about men allowed to strike their wives, as stated in Surat Nisa ‘, verse 34?In the name of Allah, Rahman, Raheem.
All praise and thanks to God, be it prayer, and the messenger of peace. Dear questioner, we would like to thank you for the great confidence you place in us, and we implore Allah Almighty to help us serve the cause, and makes our work for the town. Verse you have been to a large extent by a lot of people who focus only on the surface meaning, and took him to allow wife beating. When a not taken into account, which is isolated in the way that distorts the original meaning or falsify. Before dealing with the problem of wife battering in the perspective of Islam, we should bear in mind that the original Arabic version Koran is the sole source of meaning authentic. If one depends on the translation alone, one is likely to misunderstand this. Commenting on the issue, Dr. muzammil h Siddiqi, former president of the Islamic Society of North America, and the States: “Based on the Koran relationship between husband and wife should be based on mutual love and affection. Almighty God said:” And of His signs is this, that he created for you from yourselves Mates, that ye may dwell in tranquillity with them, and that he had put love and mercy between you and (hearts): that the evidence that for those who reflect. “(Ar-Rum: 21) Koran urges husbands to treat their wives with kindness. [In the event of a family dispute, and the Koran exhorts the husband to treat his wife kindly and not to overlook the positive aspects it]. Almighty God says: “live with them on a basis of equality and compassion. If you do not like you to take them may be that you do not like you something, and God achieved through a great deal of good.” (Nisa ‘: 19) It is important that a wife recognizes the authority of her husband in the home. Is the head of the family, and it is supposed to hear it. But the husband should also use his authority with respect and kindness towards his wife. If there arises any disagreement or dispute among them, and thus should be resolved peacefully. Spouses should seek counsel parents and other respected friends and family paid to split up and resolve the differences. However, in some cases a husband may use some light disciplinary action in order to correct the violation literary wife, but this applies only in cases of absolute necessity, and that it should be resorted to if one is sure that would improve the situation. But if there are fears that it might lead to a deterioration of the relationship or may wreak havoc on him or the family, and therefore it should be avoided altogether. Quran is very clear on this issue. Almighty God says: “Men are the protectors and supervisors are women, because God has given greater force and one more than the other, and support them because they are the means to it. Therefore the righteous women obedient faith and guard in the absence of the husband wrote what God would have them guard. As for those women who fear you part disloyalty and ill-conduct, admonish them (first), (next), refuse to share their beds, (and last) beat them (lightly); but if they return to obedience, seek not against them means (of annoyance) ; most high God and large (above you all). If you fear a breach between them Twain, and the appointment of governors (two), one from his family and other purely. if they wish for peace, Allah will cause their efforts towards reconciliation; in the name of Allah has knowledge is full for all the things. “(Nisa ‘: 34-35) It is important to read the section altogether. No one should take part of the verse and used to justify one’s misconduct. This verse does not allow violence does not accept it. It guides us to ways to deal with the delicate situation of family, care and wisdom. The word “beating” is used in the verse, but this does not mean that “physical abuse”. Prophet PBUH it), explained that “dharban ghayra mubarrih”, which means “light Watt to leave any mark.” He added that it is essential to avoid confrontation. Some other scientists believed that no more than a light touch on the siwak, or brush teeth. Overall, the Prophet PBUH him) used to discourage his followers from taking even this procedure. Did not reach any of the female, and he used to say that the best of men are those who do not put pressure on their wives. In one conversations expressed strong revulsion of this act and said, “How can one of you beat his wife because he won the horse and camel and then embrace (sleep with (them?” (Al-Bukhari, English Translation, vol 8, talking 68, p. 42-43) It is also important to note that even this “mild stroke” is not mentioned in the verse is used to correct some minor problem, but you may be resorted to only in the case of misconduct of some serious moral when it fails Admonishing wife, and the avoidance of sleep it will not help. If this disciplinary action that could remedy the situation and save the marriage, and therefore should be used. “ Dr. Jamal Badawi, a professor at St. Mary’s University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, and across the appointment of a member of the faculty of religious studies departments, administrative and adds: “If the problem related to the behaviour of the wife, husband and had urged them to appeal to reason. In most cases, this measure is likely to be sufficient. In cases where the problem still exists, and the husband had expressed displeasure at the end of a peaceful manner, before sleep in separate beds for purely. cases, but the wife insists that the bad habits and showing contempt of her husband and disregard marital obligations. rather than divorce, the husband may resort to another measure that could save the marriage, at least in some cases. measure Such is accurately described as a gentle Watt on the body, but never face, and make it more of a symbolic measure than a punitive one. Even here, the ceiling is a measure limited by the following: A. It must be seen as a rare exception to the repeated exhortation of mutual respect, kindness and good treatment. According to the Koran and Hadith, this measure can be used in cases of immorality on the part of the wife or extreme refraction and the husband refused reasonable requests on an ongoing basis (nushuz). Even then, and other measures, such as advice, and should be tried first. B as defined by the modern, and that no one striking face, cause any bodily harm or even be harsh. Why talk dubbed “dharban ghayra mubarrih”, or light beating, and the scholars interpreted the law as early as the (symbolic) use siwak! They also qualified allowable “striking” and that which does not leave any mark on the body. It is interesting that the latter – fourteen centuries-old qualified is the standard used in contemporary American law to separate the light and harmless Watt or a blow from “ill-treatment” in the legal sense. This makes it clear that even this extreme, and the last resort, “the least of two evils” that the measure could save the marriage does not meet the definitions of “physical abuse”, and “domestic violence” or “wife beating” in the twentieth century law in the liberal democracies, where such extremes are common even to consider them as national concerns. C. may be such a symbolic expression of the seriousness of the continuing fracture does not imply desire. In several hadiths, the Prophet PBUH it) discourage this measure. Here are some of the statements in this regard: “No win maids God”; “Some (women) visited the families complain about their husbands (beating them). These people (the husband) is not the best of you.” In the latest modern Prophet PBUH him) is reported to have said: “How can one of you beat his wife because he won the horse and camel then he may embrace (sleep with (them?” D. The following is true for the year is to follow the example of the Prophet PBUH who never resorted to this measure, regardless of the circumstances. E Islamic teachings are global in nature. They respond to the needs and circumstances of a variety of times, cultures and circumstances. Some of the measures can work in some situations, cultures, or with some people, but may not be effective in other areas. By definition, “allowed” is the law need not encouraged or prohibited. In fact, it might be to show the passport, as in the case at hand, rather than leaving it unrestricted or ineligible, or ignored all together. In the absence of strict Qualifying persons may explain the way the matter, which could lead to excesses and abuse is real. P. Any excess, cruelty, domestic violence or abuse perpetrated by any “Muslim” can never return, and frankly, any revelatory text (the Quran or talk). Such abuses and violations because blamed for the same person (s), and it shows that pay lip service to Islamic teachings and orders, failure to follow proper Sunnah (PBUH it). |
